If you've ever wondered why your laundromat isn't showing up at the top of Google or why a competitor with fewer reviews keeps outranking you this webinar was made for you. In the latest webinar, Customer Success Manager, Bryan Hartsock, delivered a live, action-packed session on how to optimize your Google Business Profile and attract more customers without spending a dime on ads. With over 15 years of experience working with small businesses, Bryan brought the receipts and the energy.
Key Actionable Takeaways:
Your Google Business Profile Is Leaving Money on the Table
Most laundromat owners have a Google Business Profile but very few have it fully optimized. Bryan walked attendees through a live audit of a real profile and pointed out the gaps that are costing operators visibility every single day.
The basics matter more than you think: making sure your business categories are set correctly, your description is maxed out at 750 characters, your service area is defined, and your services are listed with descriptions and pricing. "All that Google really wants is that data," Bryan said. "The more that you can feed the beast that is Google, it will rank you higher."
Fresh Reviews Beat a Big Stack of Old Ones
This one surprises a lot of people. Google weighs recent reviews far more heavily than older ones when determining local rankings. A business with 20 reviews getting two to three new ones per week can outrank a competitor sitting on a thousand reviews with nothing recent.
The fix? Make review collection a weekly habit, not a one-time push. Bryan recommends downloading the QR code from your Google Business Profile and putting it everywhere on machines, at the front counter, even on your attendants' phones. "Shoot for one a day," Bryan said. "Consistent, fresh reviews beat a big old pile."
Texting Is Now a Primary Conversion Action on Google
In 2026, Google elevated text messaging as a primary way for customers to contact local businesses because most people prefer texting over calling. Bryan showed attendees how to enable the chat/text feature directly on their Google Business Profile and made a strong case for connecting it to Cents Accelerate.
With Accelerate, texts that come in through your Google listing can be handled by an AI agent even at 3 AM when a customer gets home from a late shift and has questions. The AI can respond in multiple languages too, which Bryan noted is a game-changer for operators serving diverse communities. "You can have AI to be able to answer that," Bryan said. "That's a biggie that I highly recommend you guys updating."
Video Is the Fastest Way to Stand Out on Your Listing
Google prioritizes video above all other photos on your Business Profile and yet most laundromats don't have a single one. Bryan did a live demo using the free app InShot, walking through how to shoot, edit, and post a 30-second video directly to a Google Business Profile. One example he shared had racked up 23,000 views.
The formula is simple: introduce yourself, explain what makes your store stand out, and include an offer to get people in the door. Bryan also showed how to add bilingual captions (English and Spanish) automatically inside InShot a small touch that goes a long way in many neighborhoods. His advice: don't wait for perfection. "Progress over perfection get something out there."
Wrapping Up
Marketing your laundromat doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. As Bryan made clear throughout the session, most of the tools you need are already sitting right there in your Google Business Profile, they're just waiting to be used. Fill out your description, post consistently, collect fresh reviews, add a video, and turn on text messaging. Do those things for 30 minutes a week and you'll be ahead of the vast majority of your competitors.
